Nausicaa Bird
Nausicaa Bird has worked within the nonprofit community of Taos, NM for the past five years. Passionate about social justice, an advocate for the marginalized with a keen focus on gender and racial issues, they bring to the organizational world a rare lens and seek to platform issues that have long been ignored.
In their mid-20’s, Nausicaa became immersed within social justice communities doing anti-repression work during the Occupy Wall Street movement in Oakland, California and studied social issues there through community college classes and immersion in food sovereignty projects such as intercity community gardens, Food Not Bombs, and Occupy the Farm, a Brazilian-style land reclamation for sustainable farming project.
As a massage therapist, herbalist and founder and organizer of Femme Dome, (a festival workshop space for women and femme identified people), Nausicaa is passionate about the intersections between social justice, an embodied experience, and how we relate with our natural environment both individually and collectively.
In their late 20’s, Nausicaa worked to obtain a BA in liberal arts degree and is currently in pursuit of a masters degree in social work in hopes of broadening the reach and scope of their social justice path.
